Sketching for meditation

>Documentation
During the chaotic time at SCAD, coupled with the onset of COVID, sketching became a comforting activity for me. It was my way of coping with the uncertainty and stress of that period. No matter how overwhelming things got, sitting down to draw allowed me to center myself, offering a sense of calm amidst the turbulence. Sketching became not just a creative outlet, but a therapeutic practice that helped me stay grounded.

>Documentation
In 2018, I began to expand my stylistic approach and gained much better control over my strokes. This shift allowed me to explore different techniques and forms, which added more depth and versatility to my drawings. I started experimenting with various tools and styles, learning how to make each stroke more intentional. It was a significant year of growth, as I began to feel more confident in my abilities and developed a clearer sense of my artistic direction.

In 2017, I decided to take drawing seriously for the first time. Up until that point, I had always enjoyed sketching, but it was more of a casual hobby than a focused pursuit. That year marked a turning point for me, where I began to dedicate time to improving my skills and understanding the fundamentals of drawing. It was both challenging and rewarding, and it set me on a path of continuous improvement in my artistic journey.

During my time at SCAD, my journey with drawing was incredibly exciting, as it was the first time I took a proper drawing class. The experience opened my eyes to new techniques and ways of observing the world, pushing me to develop a skill I had always admired but never formally explored. I learned a great deal, and it sparked a passion to continue improving and refining my drawing abilities for years to come.
