Design Freelance

During uncertain times, or when helping out a friend, I love taking on freelance design work. It keeps me on my toes, ensuring that I stay sharp and constantly challenged. Plus, the variety of projects brings a refreshing change, keeping things interesting and allowing me to flex different creative muscles.

Look Dev at SCAD

I believe that look development and animation go hand in hand in creating a truly compelling visual experience. Look development is about defining the visual style and aesthetic of a project, and it sets the stage for the animation. A well-crafted look provides the context and enhances the storytelling, making the characters and environments come alive in a way that resonates with the audience.

When look development is thoughtfully integrated with animation, it creates a seamless connection between the visuals and the movement. The textures, colors, and lighting established during look dev can profoundly influence how animations are perceived—affecting everything from mood to character emotions. In essence, look development and animation are interdependent; strong look dev supports and enhances animation, while effective animation brings the look to life in dynamic and engaging ways. This synergy ensures that the final product is not only visually stunning but also deeply immersive and expressive.

Design at SCAD

My sense of design has evolved significantly since my time studying for my AA at North Seattle. During my years at SCAD, I was surrounded by incredibly talented individuals and diverse design perspectives, which deeply influenced my approach. Since leaving school, I’ve continued to refine and expand my design sensibilities, embracing new ideas and techniques that have further shaped my creative vision.
